Philippine Rail Network - High Speed Trains Vision

Inspired by my recent Japan Trip, I was so amazed by the vast train networks of JR Lines. I created my own version for the future train system projects here in the Philippines. It is inevitable that the Philippines will construct this high-speed railway network sooner or later. Maybe not today, but let's see 30 or 50 years from now. I haven't finished the whole country, but was so excited creating one for Luzon.

Check if your town is one of the train stops!

The network starts from Sta Ana, Cagayan, down to Sorsogon in the farther south of the Luzon island. Baguio and Manila stations will be the main hubs of Luzon island, marking the interchanges and dividing the 3 main train branches namely Philippine Rails (PR) North, Central and South. The Luzon PR railway network will consist of 22 stations with a total span of ~1080km (~670miles) of lines.

Trains will have a maximum speed of 200-220km/h (124 - 136m/h). Because of the extremely high construction cost of the project, the PR Central Line and Lucena to Manila - PR South Line will be prioritized and the rest will follow after another 5 years. Construction of additional PR Hub Networks in Calamba (Covers Batangas, Cavite, Quezon and Laguna) and Angeles (Covers Bulacan, Tarlac, Pampanga and Zambalez) will follow after the completion of the PR Luzon Network.

Maximum operating speed will be at 220km/h. There will be 10 trains per hour running between the Baguio and Manila hubs with an initial of 5 cars each that can carry 400 passengers at a time for each direction. Minimum headway between each trains will be at 5 minutes. The Philippine Railway network will have an annual ridership of minimum 100 million for the 3 rail branches.

Because of the location of the Philippines directly along the Pacific Ring of Fire, earthquake warning systems will be introduced to enable automated train stop.

To avoid noise pollution, barriers will be installed nearby residential areas. Tracks will be strictly off limits and barriers will be installed to avoid accidents.

The Phillippine Rail Network will significantly improve the economy, tourism, business, traffic management, logistics and accessibility of the Luzon Island.
